The Yeti Lives!

Hello everybody!

Greetings from deepest Shropshire! Nestled in the Ironbridge Gorge halfway between the Welsh hills and the industrial heritage of the English West Midlands comes Cosy Yeti - Toby Tottle to some - that's me.

Since 2006 I have been passionate - fanatical even - about wool. Perhaps this is because at the time I was at university in Lampeter in mid Wales, where there's certainly no shortage of sheep. It also has a great deal to do with the importance of keeping traditional skills alive and active.

Expect a good deal more on here in the coming weeks, as I work (almost) tirelessly spinning yarn from washed fleece on my Ashford wheel, weaving scarves on my loom and organising workshops. Perhaps I'll even find time for very strong coffee and a reflective moment to consider those fields in Ceredigion where I first plucked a few locks of wool from a wire fence and wondered if I could make my own clothes from it.
