Handspun Hebridean Black Wool Knitting Yarn - Aran
100% Hebridean handspun wool knitting yarn. 2-ply.50 grams.
Not Superwash. No synthetic fibre. All sheep!
Scoured, carded, spun, plied and wound by one pair of hands in Shropshire, England.
Hebridean wool is robust and rugged, like the Scottish islands that give it its name. It is black from a distance, but looks like dark chocolate up close, beautiful sun-bleaching effects add a subtle, gold fleck here and there.
All handspun yarn is characterised by a variation in yarn weight throughout the length of a ball. Measuring 9-11 WPI (wraps per inch), this yarn will knit up best as an Aran weight, but would be acceptable in a project requiring a worsted weight yarn.
Available as either skein or ball (please specify.)
